Parish Council News

In July 2021 the Prime Minister announced the creation of ‘County Deals’ as part of the Levelling Up agenda, which would enable local leaders to take a more flexible approach to devolving powers and funding from Westminster. Since then, conversations have taken place between Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and the cities of Derby and Nottingham, and the Department of Levelling Up, Communities and Housing to capitalise on the opportunity.

The attached briefing note has been circulated to all Councils in Derbyshire about the proposed scheme and this will be discussed at the Town and Parish  Council Liaison Forum on Monday 17th October 2022. Click here to view it

New play equipment at the Scropton Road Playing Fields

The Parish Council agreed to install new play equipment at the Scropton Road Playing Fields to the value of £49,000.  This is being matched funded with half being funded by the Parish Council and the remaining half via a grant from SDDC.

 Some of the equipment has already been installed, with the remainder to be installed in November.  The Parish Council is very pleased to see that already the equipment is being used and enjoyed.
