What to do

Create a piece of art or colour in the attached picture  – let your imagination run WILD! There are 2 categories – entries using the more traditional approach of paints, pastels, acrylics, pens or pencils to colour in the outline drawing. And a second category – for those of you who want to design your own poster, in any medium, the size must be A4. The theme is THANKS TO THE NHS.

The submissions are going to be judged by a panel on originality, creativity, time spent, number of lines coloured outside of, blending/shading, use of colour theory. Make sure to keep that all in mind when you’re working on your art.

The competition will close on 4th May at 5pm, so you have some time to practice colouring in the lines and to find those items for the collage. Fingers crossed you win!

To Enter

Please email a photo of your artwork to hattonparish@gmail.com with the heading THANK YOU NHS Competition, and don’t forget to tell us your age and category selection! If your submission makes the shortlist, we’ll be in touch with further details after the competition closes. There are three age groups: under 8s, 8-12, and 13 years and over.  You must be a resident of Hatton parish.

The prizes!

For each category, the winner of each age group will receive a cash prize of £25. There are also runner-up prizes for each category and age group too, so plenty of chances to WIN! The winning, runner-up and highly commended artwork will be asked for their work to be displayed within the parish.

After the competition finishes, we will ask if you wish to bring your artwork to the Jubilee Hall, so that they may be sent on to the Royal Derby Hospital as a record of Hatton’s thanks and appreciation for the selfish work helping people. The date for bringing the artwork will be circulated separately,
